Evita Morin, LMSW, has been honored to serve Rise Recovery since 2016. Her civic and nonprofit career spans the front lines of civil service, housing, education and addiction treatment. A San Antonio native, she grew up throughout urban and rural Texas before attending undergraduate and graduate school at Columbia University in New York. Passionate about her community, she also proudly serves as a board member of Masters Leadership Program of Greater San Antonio, The Blood & Tissue Foundation and her HOA. She is the recipient of recognition by San Antonio Woman Magazine as a “San Antonio Role Model,” the SA Business Journal’s 40 Under 40, and the NASW’s Alamo Region Social Worker of the Year. She has two beautiful children and she loves camping with her family across Texas.
Michael Davis, Rise Recovery’s Chief Financial Officer, brings over thirty years of finance experience from the healthcare and non-profit sectors, including executive and consultant roles. He is well-versed in leading all aspects of financial operations and making capital investments while utilizing extensive support from grants, donations and other fund sources, as well as aligning fiscal and operation’s management to strategic plans.
Michael, his wife and two daughters moved to San Antonio in 2010. They love to travel, when able to do so, and frequently visit family in southern California. He discovered Rise Recovery in 2016 and continues to support proudly the organization’s efforts as a member of the Rise Recovery leadership team.
Karla Ramirez is a strategic operational leader with over 20 years of executive-level experience and achievements in the behavioral health field. Throughout her career, Karla has demonstrated a strong ability to collaborate and solve complex problems across functions, seamlessly toggling between long-term strategic thinking and near-term tactical execution. She thrives in fast-paced, high-stakes environments, leveraging her entrepreneurial spirit to help organizations navigate periods of rapid growth or transformation. With expansive experience in system redesign, alternative payment models, service line development, integration models, the application of parity laws, and employee engagement, Karla has earned a reputation for developing innovative and profitable programs and services that deliver excellent outcomes
Karla is passionate about addressing the social determinants of health that impact equitable access to care and health outcomes. Her leadership continues to inspire teams and organizations to think creatively and implement solutions that ensure better health outcomes for all.
Roxanne Sandoval was born and raised in San Antonio, TX. As a college student she worked part time as a youth leader with Northside Independent School District where she enjoyed making a difference in children’s lives. Roxanne has over 10 years’ experience in volunteering throughout San Antonio community organizations and non-profits. She joined the Rise Recovery family as a volunteer shortly after graduating with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Criminal Justice in 2016. Roxanne enjoys painting, listening to music, spending time with her family and playing with her sweet Yorkshire Terrier, Oliver.
Bridget Maggard is the Principal of Rise Inspire Academy. She has worked in public, private, and parochial schools for over 20 years. Her expertise includes general education, special education, and School Administration. Bridget possesses commendable organizational skills, which she uses to forge connections and establish partnerships that contribute to the success of students and families.
Bridget leverages her experience and education to strengthen the foundation of San Antonio’s first Recovery High School. She has two Master of Arts degrees—one in Elementary Education and the other in Special Education, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Through her education, academic certifications and work experience in varied settings, she has gained valuable knowledge to help shape school programs.
When not at Rise Inspire Academy, she camps at Texas State Parks, cruises on Carnival ships, and spends time with her two adult children and her father.
As the Director of Clinical Services at Rise Recovery, Heather Labyer brings over 10 years of experience in mental health and substance use treatment. She is passionate about creating supportive environments that empower individuals on their journey to recovery. With a strong background in clinical practice and program development, she focuses on delivering compassionate, evidence-based care that meets the unique needs of each person.
I’ve been grateful to gain experience in trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and recovery-focused support across clinical, community, and justice-involved settings. I’ve facilitated groups, conducted clinical assessments, and supported individuals with complex behavioral health needs. I hold an MSW from UTSA and a BSW from Texas State University, and I’m thankful for the opportunity to keep growing in this role. Outside of work, I’m a proud dog mom who enjoys a quiet weekend with her pups.
