Youth Program

At the heart of Rise Recovery is our youth, and we serve them through a few programs such as the Youth Program, and Youth Summer Program. 

Rise Recovery’s foundation is built on two
methods: the Peer Model and the Family Model. Positive peers are the most effective “guides” and “mentors” to the youth-aged developing brain. Because of this, 100% of our Program Staff identify as peers – people with shared experience and successful recovery.

Additionally, young people are most successful when the entire family is involved in learning and focused on their own healing. Your participation is a part of why this works. Finally, we believe recovery resources should be barrier free. For that reason, our services are at no cost to you.

Alternative Peer Groups

We hold weekly recurring small groups and 12 step meetings for all ages, groups, and families. 

Peer Coaching

Fun-Covery Activities

We go on weekly outings with our participants to places like the Zoo, skating rink, botanical gardens, sunflower fields, and other fun things are happening in the city! We are a fun group and we like to keep recovery uplifting!

Family Support

We offer support groups and peer coaching to promote healing and support in the family’s recovery. We believe that our youth and young adults benefit greatly from having their loved ones, siblings, and guardians receiving support. 

Free Summer Program

From June - August, we have a FREE summer program, teens welcome, ages 12-17! We have nonstop activities like bowling, game nights, painting, movies, swimming & more! This is for teens who need extra recovery support while away from school.

Community

Recovery High School

Rise Inspire Academy (RIA) is the only recovery high school in San Antonio & Bexar County. RIA focuses on the balance of supporting a student’s recovery journey and well-being with academic excellence. RIA also facilitates offsite recovery meetings that enable students to build their recovery network.

In-School Support (CISD)

Community ISD is for students (12-17) during schooltime to support screening, early intervention, and recovery. We are dedicated to each district community, providing drug & alcohol counseling, peer coaching, support alternative peer groups, education and leadership development.

You must first enroll in orientation. All participants are required to be on time. If you are late, you will not be allowed in the class.

How much does this cost? 

All of our services are no cost to you. We kindly ask for donations in order to maintain our programs.

Why is it necessary for me to go if I’m not using drugs?

Even if you are not using drugs, Rise Recovery provides the necessary tools for the entire family to understand the disease.

Do I have to share everything about myself?



No. You may share what you want. If you do not want to share, you can say “pass.” We respect your confidentiality.

Can I bring my friend?



We ask that you wait a few weeks before bringing friends. We want to ensure that you gain the most from the program, which can be difficult to obtain if a friend is there.

I don’t want my parents coming. Is it cool if I come without them?



We don’t REQUIRE your parent to be here but certainly do ENCOURAGE it for several reasons:
  • There is a higher chance of recovery when the family is involved.
  • Your parents will be less afraid if they understand what you are attending and a less afraid parent means a less controlling parent.
  • They can’t support you if they don’t understand.
  • 90% of the time your meetings are separate from the parents. They aren’t going to hear what you are saying. We will keep and respect your right to confidentiality.

Family - Why do I need to go to Family Group meetings? My child is having drug problems, I’m not.



Any illegal drug use or alcohol abuse by a family member will negatively affect the entire family. The good news is that when the entire family is involved in the recovery process, the chances of recovery are increased tenfold. You are an important part of the recovery process. We also believe that your health and well-being is equally important. We aim to help you we have productive activities and discussions that will help maintain your sanity throughout the recovery process. You will become apart of a “We” group, and the strength and knowledge of the group are beneficial to its members.
